Dry Eyes (dryeyes.co.il) aims to give people with dry eyes clear, accurate and up-to-date information, and to help them understand when it is worth being examined by a specialist. This policy explains how the content is written, reviewed and updated.

Who writes and reviews

The content is written by the site team and medically reviewed by Prof. Michael Mimouni, an ophthalmologist specialising in the cornea and dry eye. Every reviewed article shows the reviewer's name and the date of the last update at the top.

What we rely on

  • Accepted clinical guidelines (for example the TFOS DEWS II reports and the guidelines of the American Academy of Ophthalmology), Cochrane reviews and studies published in medical journals.
  • Every article ends with a list of sources you can check.
  • When research is still limited or inconclusive, we say so explicitly.

What you will not find here

  • Product advertising or recommendations for a particular brand. When a product is mentioned by name, it is to explain, not to recommend.
  • Prices. The cost of treatment is set and discussed at the consultation, according to the treatment that suits each patient.
  • Promises of results. Every eye is different, and treatment is tailored to the individual.

The link to the clinic

The site is operated by Mimouni Vision Ltd. (מימוני ויזיון בע"מ, company no. 516501970), which also operates the dry eye clinic in Haifa. The treatment pages describe only treatments that are offered at the clinic. It matters to us that the information is also useful to people who will not come to us.

Updates and corrections

We review the content from time to time and update it when there is new information. Found a mistake or something unclear? We would be glad to hear from you: [email protected].

The information is not a substitute for an examination

The information on the site is for general explanation only. It does not constitute medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation, and it is not a substitute for an examination by an eye doctor. In any case of severe pain, reduced vision, redness with sensitivity to light or an eye injury, see a doctor or an emergency service immediately.
